D3 Secretary of UNY through SOS, Invite Glagah Beach to clean up!

Sunday (3/12), D3 Secretary of the Faculty of Economics, Yogyakarta State University held an SOS (Society of Secretary) event or a beach cleaning social service which was held at Glagah beach, Kulon Progo. This event succeeded in attracting the interest of more than 80 participants consisting of students from Yogyakarta State University and several DIY universities as well as the local community. SOS also attracted the interest of Yogyakarta State University officials and lecturers to enliven the event. The participants were invited to clean up Glagah beach which some time ago was affected by the cempaka cyclone. In his speech, Chusnu as the supervisor of the activity said that this event was a class and social event. "Hopefully it will be useful for the community. In addition, hopefully it will increase the soft skills of the students. This is an important provision for students; how to make attractive proposals, lobbying, negotiating, and so on,” said Chusnu

 

“This SOS event is sponsored by many brands with the main sponsor being Grab. The grab community itself also came to witness and enliven the event. Besides grab, ISHD (Harley Davidson Sport Association), Mr. Burger, Sinar Abadi Batik, Eco Racing, Shinta Motor, simple go shoe shop, kebon ndhelik, special chili sauce, ministry of religion, tourism office and many other sponsors. The cultural service with the tanjung sari samigaluh art studio featuring jathilan as the culmination of the beach clean-up event. This SOS beach clean-up activity also has the support of PATRA PANSEL (local youth association).” Equina said as the event section.

“The event which took place from 07.30 – 15.00 also invited local bands, UNY bands, UNY dances and the last one was a jathilan performance from Samigaluh to enliven the beach clean up event. The beach clean-up activity held by the D3 Secretariat of UNY aims to provide education to tourists and the public about the importance of maintaining cleanliness by disposing of garbage in the places provided. This event is also to fulfill the task of the event organizer course which is led by Rr. Chusnu Syarifa Diah Kusuma, S. A. B., M. Si.” Veronica Juli, the head of the SOS committee added.

The beach clean-up activity is a form of UNY students' concern for the environment in tourist attractions in Kulon Progo. In addition, in this event, the SOS committee also provided trash cans as a tangible form of student care. This beach clean-up action received a lot of positive appreciation from the general public, UNY lecturers and high-ranking officials in Kulon Progo. One of the P. ADP lecturers who also participated in appreciating this activity, Mrs. Muslikhah D. Hartanti, M. Pd. He conveyed a moral message "I really appreciate the activities that you hold, I am proud of all of you who have packaged this event so well and hopefully in the future your juniors can follow in your footsteps by creating a more creative and more interesting event organizer."
