STUDENTS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENGLISH DEBATE IN “SECRETARY DAY” COMPETITION

Department of Administrative Education UNY successfully won 2nd and 3rd place in the Secretary Day competition which was held at ASMI Santa Maria on May 12, 2018 in commemoration of International Secretary Day. The Secretary Day competency was attended by SMA and University from office and secretarial study programs in the province of Yogyakarta.

The first session in this activity was a National Seminar with the theme "Secretary in the Digital Era 4.0", followed by an English debate competition. The team from UNY has carried out preparations and training with supervisors. The results of the hard work that has been done have finally paid off. UNY was able to win 2 awards with competition ranking Team 1 from the Administration Education S1 study program represented by Andrian Eko Susanto and Teguh Wicaksono won 2nd place in the English debate competition and team 2 from the Secretariat D3 study program won 3rd place represented by Hanif Masitoh and Michel Ike Permatasari.

"This is my first time participating in an English debate, for me this competition is to hone my English skills other than through public speaking," said Michel. “Even so, for me, this English debate is the first time I've participated in, this is a challenge that I think is very testing to think quickly, decide things properly and issue a brilliant argument” Teguh added. The end of a series of Secretary Day competitions in 2018 was the announcement and awarding of door prizes to the audience and also the winners of the English debate competition. (Ekw/cs)
